Bench Industrial Inc. ("Bench Industrial", "we", "us") connects skilled tradespeople in Ontario with industrial and data center work. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out our form or text us, we collect your name, mobile number, trade, certification status, whether you hold a Red Seal endorsement, whether you're looking for work or referring someone, and any details you include (such as location, availability, or certifications). If you refer someone, we collect the information you share about them so we can contact them.
Messages. If you text us, we keep the content of those messages to run intake and match you to work.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data (pages viewed, device and browser type, and the ad or link that brought you here) through cookies and advertising pixels. See "Cookies and advertising" below.
How we use your information
- Match you to industrial and data center jobs that fit your trade and certification.
- Contact you by text or phone about opportunities and to run intake.
- Process referrals and pay referral rewards.
- Share relevant candidate details with prospective employers for placement.
- Measure and improve our advertising and our service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Text messaging
By giving us your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from Bench Industrial about work opportunities and your intake. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and we will stop texting you. Reply HELP for help.
Cookies and advertising
We advertise on platforms like Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Reddit, and we use their advertising pixels and cookies to understand which ads bring people to our site and how well they perform. These platforms may use this data under their own privacy policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and control ad personalization in your Meta and Reddit account settings.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to do our job:
- Prospective employers — relevant candidate details (such as trade, certification, and availability) so they can consider you for placement.
- Service providers — companies that help us operate, such as our website host, our text-messaging provider, and the service we use to pay referral rewards. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
If you reply STOP or ask us to delete your information, we remove your personal records within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal or tax obligations (for example, records of referral payments). Otherwise we keep your information for up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can reach out about future work, then delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can access it.
Age
Our service is intended for working-age tradespeople and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here with an updated effective date.
